Every year ITS updates, replaces and buys new servers - the hardware that receives/sends email, offers up our web pages, stores files, etc. We are now using EPEAT ratings to assist us in assessing the servers we are considering purchasing.

In addition, we are working on increasing the number of virtual servers we use - thereby reducing the amount of hardware we purchase and maintain - and we are using terminal server (for example) to give administrative assistants at Wesleyan access to EMS (Wesleyan’s room scheduling system) without having to buy them new computers.
